Bites of Truth:
Outbreak on the Menu

Bites of Truth: Outbreak on the Menu is a 141-page graphic novel that focuses on a family's response to a young girl in the family (Daphne) contracting a mysterious illness. The story follows Daphne's mother (Anna) and her aunt (Chaney) as they fight for Daphne's illness to be diagnosed and her story to be told, uncovering surprising conspiracy and confronting obstacles along the way.

I worked in a team of four with two authors: food safety advocate Dr. Darin Detwiler and food law expert Dr. Gabriela Steier, and my best friend and fellow art student Maggie Brosnan. My role in the project was to convert the text manuscript from words to thumbnails and complete the final inking for every page. Maggie also thumbnailed, and added the wonderful grayscale coloring to each of the pages. I'm grateful to show a few spreads here on my website alongside some of the progress sketches and works involved. If you would like to see more examples of my work from this book, please check the contact page and send me an email.

The book is available as an ebook on the Kindle, linked here.
